This is a professional MiniDV / S-VHS combo player, designed to dub MiniDV to S-VHS and vice versa. It is also designed to send video out via FireWire to a computer editing system. This unit is partially functioning and needs repair. It will power up, but the MiniDV section is malfuntioning. I am not a professional technician, but my diagnosis is that has a faulty logic board, which should run about $350 for the repair. The S-VHS section worked fine in my tests. I haven't been able to test the FireWire output. As such, I'm selling this with no reserve and AS-IS, to either use as parts, or to fix up yourself to get a great MinDV/S-VHS/FireWire combo on the cheap. I've seen other used JVC SR-VS30s on eBay that closed around $900-$1000, so this could be a great deal to invest in. Thanks for checking it out!
